The problem with foods is that they naturally have inherent defects, such as bitterness. Bitter compounds are undesirable by consumers which requires foods to undergo heavy processing with either harsh chemical or non-natural methods such as GMO's. These methods strip away the valuable phytonutrients from the food leaving it nutrient deficient which requires foods to be fortified or artificially enriched to regain any nutritional value, however, these methods are non-natural and produce nutrients that are difficult for the body to absorb.
